KUCHING: Housewife Janta Rayon, 54, was so proud and pleased at being picked to be part of the National Day parade that she attended every rehearsal even though she had high blood pressure and diabetes.

Sadly, last Friday’s rehearsal was her last as she collapsed at Padang Merdeka and died shortly afterwards at a nearby polyclinic. According to her son Dions Dugat, 33, Janta had been very keen to be at the rehearsal that day despite appearing unwell.
