Connacher Oil and gas Limited (CLL – TSX) announced today that the company is making excellent operational progress at its Great Divide Pod 1 construction site. This week, Connacher expects to initiate driving piles to support the sizeable storage tanks which have to be constructed onsite. This is occurring ahead of schedule, as this aspect of the plant site construction was originally scheduled to be completed in time for January 2007 startup of tank construction in the field. The Garfield County commissioners will voice their support Monday for new proposed air pollution regulations for statewide oil and gas operations. County environmental health manager Jim Rada will take prepared comments to a public hearing by the Air Pollution Control Division (APCD) of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment next month on the proposed regulations.

Rada said citizens have raised concerns about their health due to potential air pollution from oil and gas operations in the west end of the county. Read more

Construction work is under way at Central Illinois Energy’s ethanol plant near Canton. CIE plans to start making ethanol there in June.

Three cranes and other heavy equipment were at the site Friday. One crane was pounding the ground by raising and releasing a large, heavy disk.

“It’s called dynamic compaction,” said Mike Smith, CIE general manager. “They’re compacting dirt that goes under some of the heavier foundation.” Read more
