Forest preserve job fairs scheduled
Those seeking summer employment can get a head start by attending one of four Lake County Forest Preserve job fairs during the month of January.
The free job fairs highlight temporary positions available at forest preserve facilities throughout Lake County.
The 2007 job fairs are offered on:
• Wednesday, Jan. 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville.
• Thursday, Jan. 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Greenbelt Cultural Center in North Chicago.
• Saturday, Jan. 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda.
• Monday, Jan. 22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lake Villa Township Offices in Lake Villa.
Interested candidates will have an opportunity to complete applications and to ask questions of Forest Preserve staff concerning the open positions.
Seasonal positions for 2007 include openings at Independence Grove for lifeguards, aquatic manager, and preserve and marina attendants. Openings at select Forest Preserve Golf Clubs include food and beverage attendants, guest services and clubhouse attendants, and coordinators of golf at ThunderHawk in Beach Park, Countryside in Mundelein, and Brae Loch in Grayslake.
Education employment opportunities are also available for nature camp counselors and environmental education instructors. Positions will be open until filled.
