A South Australian based uranium company has acquired an exploration project in central Australia.

Toro Energy Limited will spend about $3 million over the next three years to explore uranium opportunities at the Napperby site, 150 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs.

The public company says it will give about $2 million of its shares to the site’s owner, Deep Yellow, to explore the land. Read more

Iran is limiting uranium enrichment in a signal to the U.S. and its European allies that the Islamic Republic wants to avoid escalating the dispute over its nuclear program, two Western diplomats said.

The 328 centrifuges Iran uses to enrich uranium are now running only intermittently instead of at full capacity, according to the diplomats, who have direct knowledge of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Iran dossier. Banpu’s first-quarter earnings will drop due to a malfunctioning winch-brake motor at its Bontang Coal Terminal in Indonesia, which disrupted loading, president Chanin Vongkusolkit said yesterday.
